Anyone who is attending a baby shower and has been to at least one before will know that, outside of the gifts and probably a cake and streamers, there really isn’t much in the way of decoration preparation before a baby shower. This can lead to a rather dull party, as the festive nature of a party generally starts with the decorations that the guests are surrounded by. Part of the problem is that the guest of honor won’t be able to attend and everyone knows everyone else making it less important to create an atmosphere of fun. However, there is an easy way to spice up the decorations simple and easily.
Pacifier corsages are a great way to increase the involvement of those involved. You can create them with a group of people (i.e. at the party) or as a simple but beautiful party favor. To get started you will need some tulle, scissors, hot glue gun, silk flowers, ribbon, pacifiers and diaper pins. It’s easier if you get a little bit extra of everything so if there are mistakes you can start over.
First you need to cut the tulle into a rectangle and fold it into a fan like shape. Next tie some ribbon around the pinched bottom and secure it to the pacifier in a bow. If you have to, you can glue it down to ensure that it’s secured well. Next decorate it with the silk flowers as you like, you can add other items as well to create a “baby scene”. If this sounds like too much work you can easily take the pacifiers to a florist and have them do it for a relatively small fee.
